"who ever said a picture was worth 1000 words is missing the point".

The visual language is something that can't really be compared to written or oral communication. I have always been interested in expressing things visually and find it much easier to explain a concept with a pen in my hand and paper near by than just using words.

And concepts are never perfect when conceived. Collaboration and a culture of ideas makes good ideas great. And if I were to be a wanker about it, I might say something like ideas cant be owned, only set free.

Design

I have always been passionate about design. I first realised that this is what I wanted to do for a living whilst I was making a series of posters by cutting out individual letters from type samples that I had photocopied from the typography manuals in the local library. I am as much rewarded by the process as I am the result.

Since the mid 90's I have been working as a designer and over that time have developed skills across a range of disclipines. I am highly competent in print design, familiar with motion and 3d but my expertise is in digital and online design.

I have demonstrated this approach in accoladed work for clients such as Orange, Bakers Delight, London Underground, Selfridges & Co, Nando's, Kmart, Snooze, Stockland, CGU and Schmackos.

Strategy

Creative and strategy are 2 sides of the same coin.

In my current role as Senior digital creative, I play a key role in developing channel and brand strategy for SapientNiro clients. My ability to both think strategically and place creative work in a strategic context has been a personal passion and strength in all recent roles.

Communication

As head of design and as senior multimedia designer I have depended on my ability to communicate with team members and clients about the requirements and objectives of a project. I am a strong team player with good listening skills. In managing freelances and junior staff I have found my open and friendly approach to be conducive to a great collaborative environment.

My ability to clearly articulate technical and mechanical aspects of work is a benefit to all stakeholders in projects, be it selling work in a new business situation or realising a creative vision in collaboration with clients and developers.

Technology

With a background in web development and digital creative I have found my skills in both front end development and server side scripting to be invaluable in the creative process. I Have a passion for new technologies and find it very rewarding when clients are willing to try something new that I have proposed.
